Monica Freeland, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides therapy for teens, emerging adults, adults, couples, and families. She offers both in-person therapy in Chicago and online therapy across Illinois. She creates a warm, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard, respected, and safe to explore what’s bringing them to therapy.

Monica specializes in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, gender dysphoria, low self-esteem, and life transitions. She also supports clients facing relationship challenges, family conflict, parenting stress, and workplace issues.

Monica earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and is currently deepening her clinical training through the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute (expected completion May 2026). Her approach is grounded in psychodynamic and family systems theories, with a deep respect for each person’s lived experience and emotional complexity.

Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, Monica meets clients where they are, without a fixed agenda, offering empathy, curiosity, and space to move at their own pace. She believes that meaningful change emerges through a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship.
