Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company

Please contact your insurance carrier before your first session to understand your specific plans coverage. You can ask the following questions:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible and has it been met?

  • What is my co-pay and/or coinsurance?

  • What will I be responsible for paying at or after appointments?

Out-of-Network

You can call your insurance provider to learn if you have any out-of-network benefits.  If you choose to pursue this option, you are responsible for the full fee at the time of your appointment. We will provide you a receipt (a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible partial reimbursement.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your session with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a $100 fee. Please be aware that this fee will not be covered by your insurance carrier and will be charged on the day of the missed session.

LEGAL FEES

If a therapist is required to appear as a witness or to otherwise perform work related to any legal matter, the party responsible for the therapist's participation agrees to reimburse Jennifer Harris PsyD & Associates at the rate of $200 per hour for time spent traveling, speaking with attorneys, reviewing and preparing documents, testifying, being in attendance, and any other case-related costs.

NO SURPRISE ACT

The No Surprise Act went into effect on January 1, 2022. Under this law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have health insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes the cost of a single visit as well as an estimate for the average length of recurring treatment. If you are not using insurance, you will be provided a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your first appointment. You can request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059
