Marla Micor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with young adults and adults in individual therapy. She brings warmth, empathy, and a strong sense of advocacy to her work. With a solid foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, Marla helps clients build self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.

Marla is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and brings both lived experience and clinical insight to her work with individuals navigating identity, belonging, and emotional wellbeing. She creates an affirming, inclusive space where people feel supported to show up as their full and honest selves.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Illinois State University and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago, obtaining her LCSW shortly after.

With years of experience in the mental health field, Marla specializes in helping clients better understand the connection between their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Her approach is collaborative and empowering, with a focus on cultivating self-compassion and personal growth.

By integrating CBT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based tools, Marla supports clients in managing stress, anxiety, and life’s challenges with more confidence and clarity. Her therapeutic style is grounded in non-judgment, authenticity, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
