Marla Micor is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and grounding/mindfulness techniques. Marla is a passionate advocate and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and she brings both lived experience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by its members. She is committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces where individuals can explore their identities and receive the support they need.
Marla received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Illinois State University and went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Then achieving her LCSW shortly after.
With years of experience in the mental health field, Marla specializes in helping individuals explore and understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors - fostering self-awareness and personal growth. Her approach emphasizes self-empowerment and the importance of gaining a deeper understanding of oneself as one of the foundations for overall mental health wellness.

By incorporating CBT and mindfulness amongst other approaches, Marla guides clients in developing individualized skills to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges; collaborating and supporting them in creating lasting positive changes. Marla's therapeutic style is rooted in empathy, non-judgment, and acceptance of everyone in their truest and most honest forms.
